Hi, I am Ryan Ingebritsen. I am a composer, sound artist, and sound engineer, originally from Minneapolis. After a 21-year freelance career collaborating with international music and dance groups based in Chicago, I earned a PhD in Informatics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In 2022, and became a Professor of Music Technology at West Texas A&M University.
My work creating Digital Musical Instruments (DMIs) led me to study kinesthetic interaction design and usability engineering. I found that my experience in embodied interaction was a natural fit for UX design. I now apply the UX principles to my creative work and research, as well as integrating my understanding of embodied interaction and sonic interaction into my UX design work.
I am eager to leverage my experience in interaction design and research for your upcoming project.
